What a Success!! And many thanks to all the volunteers who made it a success!
After a good competition at the Enfield Open meet, everyone hightailed it back to the presentation evening at Mount Grace School, where the Chef was already cooking the food, and Adie was grooving to his tunes!
Everyone had a great time, and it was great to see so many people there. You can see all the photos here
The PBSC AGM will be held on the 9th November at 20:30 at the Furzefield.
Further details to be emailed to the club membership – note that there are a number of resignations from the committee due to other commitments, so please volunteer as your club needs you!
Hi all – Daryl Mason and John Cunningham competed at the World Masters in Budapest – the same venue as the Elite World Champs! It was an amazing facility and a privilege to race there.
Both swam really well – Daryl came 6th in the 100 breast, 6th in the 50 Fly, and 5th in the 50 Free.
John managed 2nd in the 100m fly (in a lifetime PB!), 3rd in the 50 Fly, and 6th in the 100 Free.
Daryl Mason and John Cunningham (me!) will be competing at the FINA World Masters in Budapest this coming week. We are really looking forward to competing on the world stage again, and are ready for some fast swimming!
Tuesday – 100 free (Jc) 100 breast (Daryl)
Wednesday – 50 fly both
Thursday – 100 fly (Jc) 50 free (Daryl)
There is Mark Foster swim camp during the October half-term. This was really enjoyable when PBSC swimmers went previously, and everyone leant a lot. More details can be found here: mfsa.co.uk
FINA have released an informative booklet on nutrition for swimmers. There is some good information here, but as with all these things, it is no substitute for individual advice from a qualified professional, but tries to give practical information that will be of use to the serious athlete.
Best of luck to Georgina Tallon and David Shipman who are representing the club at the English Nationals this week! Swim Fast! You are an inspiration to all our other swimmers!
Well done to the PBSC team that swam in the Leighton Buzzard SC Development Gala. In fact the performance of the team was so good that we picked up 12 speeding tickets during the 42 events, 13 1st place finishes, six 2nd places and the team finished in 3rd place overall. The fact that our swimmers picked up a speeding ticket meant that the team did not score any points but Coaches Chris and Lauren were very pleased that the swimmers swam so well and were very happy to accrue so many speeding tickets!” , “A big thank you to all parents / guardians and Club Officials for supporting the event
